Indulge in the sweet magic of our treats made with love, care and respect that food deserves. Our cupcakes, cookies, cakes, and cakepops are crafted with high quality ingredients as close to nature as possible.
We are not a big fan of bright intense artificial colours or pre-freezing our baked goods as we believe fresh and natural is always the best and safest when it comes to food. Unless requested by customers, we avoid using artificial food colourings especially colours that are banned in EU but still widely used in some places like Australia and/or the UK and/or the USA. For example, E171/ colour 171 (a whitener associated with inflammatory bowel disease and colon cancer) and other colours that may have adverse effects on activity and attention in children like E129/Red 40, E102/FDC Yellow 5/Tartrazine, E110/FDC Yellow 6/Sunset Yellow.
Please refer to Know You Know! page for more information on the not so harmless additives commonly used in the baking industry including artificial colours, preservatives and palm oil. We encourage our customers to choose all natural and palm oil free ingredients in their order especially if it is for kids. We are not trying to be different. We just want keep our customers informed of what goes into their cakes. We embrace a bake-for-self mentality where we try to keep it safe and ethical when it comes to food. Aesthetically pleasing food is a bonus but we never put aesthetics before safety and taste.
Our All Natural Range are crafted with natural ingredients without the use additives like artificial colours, palm oil or artificial flavours. While we recognise that desserts are by no means health food we strive to create them with improved nutritional profiles whenever we can. For instance, we pay attention to enhancing the protein content by using lots of eggs in our cakes and also using meringue-based buttercream (unless you choose American Buttercream which contains no egg). We also lower the sugar content of all of our baked goods. Sugar itself is bad but when you have sugar with protein, fibre or fat the impact of the sugar is moderated due to the lowered glycemic index. In addition, our All Natural range only uses natural colours derived from fruits and vegetables which are naturally high in antioxidants.
While we are passionate about our All Natural range, we understand there are different needs for different occasions. Our Standard Range offers quality baked goods using standard ingredients which include synthetic colours widely used in the cake decorating industry. However, we still abide by our values of only using the finest choice brand butter, sugar, flour and all natural vanilla extracts. We never use cage eggs and artificial flavours.
